University of Iowa Hawkeye Poll released today shows
New York Senator Hillary Clinton has the support of
28.9 percent of Iowa Democrats while Illinois Senator
Barack Obama garners support from 26.6 percent, a
difference that is within the poll’s margin or error.
The same poll shows former Vice-Presidential candidate
John Edwards fading to 20 percent, a six point drop
from August. Among Republicans, former Massachusetts
Governor Mitt Romney leads with 36.2 percent, with
former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani a distant second
at 13.1 percent, followed closely by a surging Mike
Huckabee, the former Governor of Arkansas.

Mario Cuomo, a liberal Democrat, against a Republican
who was running for governor; then opposed the
governor's tax cuts when he was there. So I simply
disagree with him on those issues. And he sides with
Hillary Clinton on each of those issues I just
mentioned."

with 53 percent of the vote. Jindal, a GOP
congressman, will succeed Kathleen Blanco, who was

governor of Indian descent.
